Boys’ Basketball: Boys’ Basketball had a 6-15 record last year, which they are looking to improve upon for this year’s tournament. “It will be tough in the beginning, but we will prevail,’’ said junior Landon Booth. “The season depends on how we are going to overcome adversity,’’ added junior Adam Bowman. Boys’ basketball’s first game will be on November 24, away against Martinsville.
Girls’ Basketball:
Girls’ basketball had a 17-5 record last year. “We have good experience and some good seniors coming back,” said new head coach teacher Jason Longmeier. The team played in tournaments and had conditioning this summer and is, according to Longmeier, in very good shape. Girls’ basketball’s next game will be on November 20, away against Floyd Central.

Boys’ Swimming:
The boys’ swim team is ready for this year’s tournament. “We are practicing in the morning from 6:00-7:30 a.m. and after school from 4:00-6:00 p.m.,’’ said senior Jordan Hartman. Boys’ swimming’s first meet will be on November 27, at home against Jeffersonville.

Girls’ Swimming:
The girls’ swim team is hoping to go to sectional like in previous years. “We need to swim to the best of our ability,’’ said senior Jessica Waltrip. Girls’ swimming’s first meet will be on November 27, at home against Jeffersonville.

Boys’ Wrestling: 
The wrestling team is very enthusiastic about the upcoming season. “We will have our struggles, but we will be very successful for a young team,’’ said senior Adam Wolka. He also added, “We would like to have more kids in the regionals and state this season.’’  Boys’ wrestling’s first meet will be on November 20, at home against Bloomington North. 

Girls’ Gymnastics:
Seymour High School is very excited about gymnastics. One of the big stars for this year is senior Kelly Deppen, who made it all the way to state in her sophomore and junior year. Girls’ gymnastics’ first meet will be on December 28, away against Columbus East.
